The best aura for a summoner is considered to be the might aura, because it buffs the damage of your whole squad. The mercenaries will keep the aura all game long and it only depends where you bought him. My merc: Hone Sundan with 3 Shael for crushing blow, treachery armor and a helmet with some resitances (haven't found anything good yet)Īlso: Amp over lower res, except you want to focus on skele mages but I don't know why you would.As the others have said. He deals most damage anyways while the rest of the bony bunch is just there to soak hits for the most part. Your best option to get that first kill is your merc. I also used a Smoke armon him and some other polearms with rune words, but I am eagerly waiting on good gear for him so i can swap to a better weapon. yea that should (theoretically) help with finding good items. 3 pTopas helmet, 4pTopas armor, 2 Nagel, Gheeds, chance guards, gold wrap, resistance/movespeed boots, crafted amulet with +2 sumoning and +6% fcr, carin shard and a ghost shield which amounts to 313 mf. sure, get as much +skill as possible, but honestly a decent summoning wand and a nice rune word in your shield should do the trick. What also really helps is that you're not really gear dependant. I am currently playing on plugy a lvl 83 Summoner, I haven't had much luck with finding items so my biggest concern was a tele staff (I am using Naj's right now) which helps a lot. There will be a drop off, where you might experience your 10ish skeletons just being molten by diablo faster than you can replace them. they will recover and late game summoners are pretty cool but. As a summoner you'll reach a point somewhere in nightmare (around A3/A4) where your pets drop in damage and surviability greatly.
